This afternoon it was reported that Hamas and Fatah had signed a reconciliation deal and had called for presidential and legislative elections to be held within this year. It has been reported that an agreement had been signed in Cairo. Though this has taken many officials by suprise, scepticism is abundant. Reuters news agency has also reported that the Israeli PM, Binyamin Netanyahu has directed a statement at the Palestinian Authority, stating they must choose either peace with Israel or peace with Hamas.
